STEP V2  Wind Energy Converter WEC

The STEP V2 WEC was developed to offer an affordable and practical wind energy solution.The capacity range of 5kW up to 15kW will also work in wind-weak areas.

+ State of the art technology and optimized aerodynamic design
The electronic components (inverters) for the energy quality are adapted to local conditions to minimize plant costs. Its aerodynamically optimized design obtains a high-energy yield even with low wind conditions and can be operated net-parallel and in island mode. The output voltage is 230V AC with 50Hz or on request 110V with 60 Hz.

The advanced design offers minimum maintenance with high reliability. By keeping different parts to a minimum  and selecting wear-free and continuous lubricated components, a yearly inspection and servicing  interval will be  sufficient.  The system is continuously  optimized and improved by the STEP team.

+ Start up and set up made easy
The steel mast is available in 15m or 18m in height. For the assembly of the mast, only a hand-winch is necessary and no further special tools or lifting equipment is required. Transport to its location requires no great infrastructure and can be managed with minimum effort. This simple and quick setup lowers the initial investment and provides an excellent ROI (return of investment).

The units are packed for delivery in a standardized 20" container ready for shipment anywhere in the world. All wind power systems are delivered complete (including inverters and control systems) and are ready for operation upon installation.

Control and Monitoring
The wind turbine is controlled by an innovative TCP/IP Control system which enables a 24/7 remote control and monitoring via web, video cam and mobile phone.

 

AC coupling concept for STEP V2  WEC

The electrical concept of the WEC was developed according to the principle of the AC coupling.

The inverters change the energy created by the STEP V2 wind energy converter to grid quality (230V 50Hz or 110V 60Hz). An island inverter produces an AC-grid by controlling voltage and frequency on the AC side and will take over the management of the AC-grid.

The AC-grid can be easily extended at any time by further wind energy systems and/or other power supply units (photovoltaic, emergency power generators, public grid, etc.) Almost any kind of electricity generator and electricity consumer can be attached to the net.

The patented steering concept is controlling speed of rotation over the whole power train down to the bottom of the tower.
